System 3500  Bentley Nevada  allows you to take the following readings:
- deviation of the position of the center of the shaft of various types of equipment
- measurement of relative vibration on thrust bearings
- measurement of thermal deflection of the shaft 
- measurement of radial and relative vibration, axial shifts of turbogenerators, turbocompressors

The system includes:

3500/04 - IS Grounding Module

This module provides grounding through the System 3500 backplane. The module requires a separate I/O slot. This reduces the number of slots in a 19" chassis to 13. If internal barriers are installed in the chassis, a number of options will not be available.

System Chassis 3500/05

Used to install various modules and monitors of the vibration monitoring system 3500 Bently Nevada (General Electric).

 

Chassis  3500/05  has two mounting sizes - 19" by 15 positions (standard) and 12" by 8 positions (reduced). All core modules installed in the 3500/05 chassis can be hot-swapped without shutting down the entire system, disrupting other modules and monitors, and risking false alarms. The power supply modules and chassis interface modules must be installed in the far left side of the chassis. Other modules and monitors can be installed in any combination in the slots of the 3500/05 chassis.

Power supply 3500/15  Chassis consisting of: main and backup unit. 


The power supply is a half-height module of one of two types: alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). Each power supply has enough power to power a fully populated chassis. One 3500/05 chassis houses two power supplies at the same time - the main and the backup. As a rule, a 220 V AC power supply is used as the main one. This power supply ensures stable operation of the monitoring system with various input voltage fluctuations ranging from 175 to 250 V. The second AC power supply operates in a constant readiness mode for switching to the main operating mode. In the event of a failure in the external power line or failure of the main power source, there is a transition to a backup one, while there will be no failure in the system or loss of all functions and data of the 3500 monitoring system (including protective ones). The redundant power supply also ensures that the System 3500 can operate reliably when input voltage fluctuates from 175 to 250 V and mains frequency from 47 to 63 Hz.

3500/22 Chassis Interface Module

The 3500/22 Chassis Interface Module communicates with the host computer and with other modules located in the chassis. 

Interface module 3500/22  maintains the configuration process for all modules in the chassis, and also maintains a list of system events and a list of alarms. This module can be connected in series with interface modules of other chassis, as well as with an external data acquisition computer (twisted pair or optical fiber).
The module also has a set of contacts closed by an external source: a button or a control system controller that allows remote reset (acknowledgement of alarms), temporary suppression of relay operation or multiplication of alarm thresholds. For integration. Systems 3500 Bentley Nevada
  with higher-level control systems, it is possible to use the OK relay (ready relay) present in the module. This relay is energized when there is no power or when an error is detected, during a periodic self-test of all chassis modules. Thus, this relay can be used to signal a malfunction in the measuring system (for example, if one of the system monitors fails, the signal cable breaks, or a sensor fails).

Relay module 3500/32  and 3500/33

It is used to generate a warning and emergency signal to shut down the unit and send it for testing to the ACS system in case of increased vibration of the support bearing housing or in case of increased vibration of the turbine cover.
The four-channel (3500/32) or sixteen-channel (3500/33) relay module has four or sixteen sets of relay outputs. The triggering logic for each relay is set during system configuration. Any channel or any combination of channels in the chassis can control the activation of the relay. The triggering logic is set by selecting channels and setting the decision logic: type AND or OR.

1. Signal AND - relay 2 is triggered, provided that the value of the parameters of the signal measured by channel No. 2 has exceeded the limit value of the alarm signal
2. OR signal - the values of the signal parameters measured by channels No. 3 “OR” No. 5 have exceeded the threshold of the alarm signal

This is a 4 channel module  which receives and processes the signals taken from the gap sensors and seismic sensors and compares the processed data with the programmed alarm values. Each channel of the 3500/42M monitor is programmed using the 3500 Rack Configuration application to measure in:
-radial vibration channel
- axial position channel
-relative expansion channel
-channel eccentricity
- channel for measuring speed and acceleration
Main functions  3500/42M:
1) Protection of critical equipment by continuously comparing the measured parameters with the specified limits of the alarm parameters.
2) Prompt issuance of information about the condition of the equipment for operators and specialists in monitoring the condition and maintenance.
Each channel, depending on the specified settings, converts the input signal arriving at it into various parameters, which are called "static values". For each active static value, alarm levels can be set; either of the two active static values can be set to 3500/42 alarm levels.

Monitor 3500/70M

Speed Pulse Monitor 3500/70M  are used when configuring the diagnostic system in a reciprocating compressor. Hull measurements such as bed vibration and crosshead acceleration provide important information about the condition of reciprocating machines. However, certain reciprocating compressor failures for which cased sensors are recommended often manifest as shock-type events. Such impact events generate high-amplitude short pulses in the velocity and acceleration signals - almost as if the body of a car had been struck with a hammer. These shock events are generally not typical of other machine types for which the 3500/42M monitor is recommended. To measure the vibration level of reciprocating compressors, Bently Nevada developed the Speed Pulse Monitor in the 3500/70M reciprocating compressor. As its name suggests, the 3500/70M monitor provides case vibration monitoring for reciprocating compressors and the vibration pulses they can generate. It is similar in function to the 3500/42M monitor, but it excludes configuration tools that are not suitable for reciprocating compressors. This monitor also features a unique advanced algorithm that ensures that pulse events are properly measured and displayed when the monitor is connected to condition monitoring software.

Tachometer module 3500/50

2-channel module, designed to process the received signals from non-contact or magnetic sensors (parameters for determining the speed of rotation of the shaft, acceleration), as well as the direction of rotation of the rotor, after which the results of the measurements obtained are compared with the programmed alarm thresholds, and when limit value generates an alarm. 
The 3500/50 module has 4 configurations to measure the following parameters and provide signals to trigger an alarm:
1. Measuring the speed value and setting the alarm on the set value depending on the speed range.

3. Measuring the value of the speed, turning on the alarm for the set value, issuing a signal about the acceleration of the rotor.

Monitors 3500/60 and 61  (temperature measurement)

Designed to measure the same signals and perform the same functions, they have six channels for measuring and processing temperature signals. The input signal can be taken from both resistance thermometers and thermocouples. The incoming signals from the sensors are processed and compared with the given parameters, which are programmed by the operator. The temperature monitor modules differ only when the processed data is output to the recorder. The 3500/61 temperature monitor provides a recorder output for each of the six channels, while the 3500/60 monitor does not have recorder outputs. Modules can be programmed using the 3500 Rack Configuration Software to take readings and read parameters using thermometers resistance or thermocouple. Various module connection options allow the operator to choose between using non-insulated or insulated thermocouples. 
The connection version for isolated thermocouples provides separation between the channels and their 250 VDC isolation, as well as protection against external interference.

Process Variable Monitor  3500/62

This is a 6-channel module that is used to measure the main parameters of critical equipment (pressure, flows, temperatures, levels) that require constant monitoring. The monitor input accepts +4 to +20 mA or any voltage signal between -10 to +10 Vdc. current. The module converts these signal values and compares them with parameterized alarm thresholds.
The monitor is programmable 3500/62 for current or voltage measurements. Monitor I/O modules
3500/62 process variables measure input signals according to three scenarios:
- measurement of signals +/- 10 VDC. current,
- measurement of current signals (isolated) 4-20 mA,
- measurement of current signals 4-20 mA with intrinsically safe barriers.
The I/O module with built-in isolating outputs has external power connection contacts for connecting an IS barrier of 4-20 mA sensors.
Monitor 3500/62  provides::
1) Protection of the equipment by continuous measurement and comparison of the parameters with the set alarm values.
2) Prompt provision of data on the status of equipment for maintenance personnel for prompt decision-making on the repair and maintenance of equipment. .
When using a triple redundant arrangement, the 3500/62 monitors are installed side by side in groups of three monitors. 
When using such a connection scheme, uninterrupted operation of the system is ensured, its failure due to the failure of one element is not allowed, and two types of channel redundancy are used.

Monitor 3500/72M

The 3500/72M monitor is designed to control the position of the rod relative to the ideal cylinder bore center. Based on the configuration data, a circular allowable area is determined. When the piston comes too close to the cylinder wall in any direction, as determined by going out of range, an alarm or alarm is generated. The 3500/72M monitor is also suitable for the special case of plunger position control in ultra-high pressure compressors, slightly different from conventional rod position control. The 3500/72M monitor can also be configured with a single sensor to monitor stem position or stem down.
Benefits – The rod position control system continuously monitors crosshead play, rod deflection, and band collar condition in each reciprocating compressor cylinder. 
The monitor has the following properties:
• Continuous active indication of the maximum value and direction of movement of the rod and the angle of the crank at which the maximum occurs. This information points to the source of the movement, allowing maintenance to be scheduled to replace belt seals or repair the crosshead only when needed and increase service life.
• Indication of warning and alarm levels to warn of possible cylinder damage.
The 3500/72M monitor is a 4-channel monitor that measures the position of two piston rods using a pair of X-Y sensors on each piston rod. The monitor provides an alarm on the value of the position of the rod using signals from an orthogonal pair of sensors and the angle of rotation of the crankshaft.
For each of the horizontal and vertical sensors, the alarms can be set to 2x amplitude, gap, 1X amplitude, 2X amplitude, and 1X "Not" amplitude.
Application -  Monitor 3500/72M  can be used on any horizontal, vertical, V-shaped or ultra-high pressure compressors.
The following user-provided parameters are required to configure the monitor:
• Proximity pair calibration data, physical mounting location and mounting angles

• Clearance between cylinder and piston bottom (effective piston ring thickness)

Monitor 3500/77M

It is used to measure the pressure in the cylinder, it is a 4-channel monitor with means for inputting signals from four pressure sensors.
Benefits - The most effective way to determine the overall health of a reciprocating gas compressor is to study the complete cylinder pressure profile.
Monitor 3500/77M  provides active access to the internal pressure in each compressor cylinder. This allows continuous monitoring of cylinder pressure, compression ratios, peak rod loads and rod reversal. This provides valuable information about the condition of suction valves, discharge valves, piston rings, seals and crosshead pin. Cylinder pressures are monitored through the use of permanently mounted pressure transducers located in each cylinder chamber. Cylinder chamber pressure and crankshaft position are used to provide both continuous monitoring data and operational data. Separate alarm and alarm level settings can be configured for each continuous monitoring point.
Continuous monitoring data includes the following:
• Discharge pressure
• Suction pressure
• Maximum pressure per revolution of the crankshaft
• Minimum pressure per revolution of the crankshaft

• Peak rod loads in compression and tension
