The 3300 XL 5mm and 3300 XL 8mm probe systems allow full interchangeability of probes, extension cable and Proximitor® transducers without the need for individual component matching or bench calibration.
Each component of the 3300 XL 8mm transducer system is backwards compatible and interchangeable with other components of a non-series transducer system. 3300XL 5mm and 3300XL

The 3300 XL Series Proximitor® Transmitter is packaged to accommodate a limited amount of DIN rail mounting. It can also be mounted in a traditional panel mount configuration where it takes up the same space as the older Proximitor® sensor with 4 mounting holes.
A mounting base for each option provides electrical isolation, eliminating the need for separate isolation boards.
The 3300 XL Series Proximitor® Transmitter is immune to radio interference, allowing it to be installed in a fiberglass enclosure without being adversely affected by radio signals propagating in its vicinity.
The improved RF/EMI immunity of the 3300 XL Series Proximitor® sensor allows it to be used without the need for a special shielded conductor or metal housing, reducing installation costs and simplifying installation.
The 3300 XL Series SpringLoc Terminal Blocks require no special tools, make wiring easier, faster, and more reliable for field wiring (from process equipment) by eliminating screw-type terminals where contact can come loose.
The Proximitor® sensor input accepts one 5mm Probe for a 3300 Series Gap Gauge, 8mm Probe for a 3300 Series Gap Gauge, or 8mm Probe for a 3300 XL Extension Cable.
The system provides the output of a voltage directly proportional to the distance between the tip of the measuring head and the controlled conductive surface. It allows both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) measurements, and is used primarily for vibration and position measurements in machines with fluid dynamic bearings, as well as for measuring Keyphasor® signals and speed.

3300 XL System with 11mm Proximity Probe

The 11 mm probe length of the System 3300 XL has the same features as the System 3300 8 mm probe. . The specially designed sensor and proximometer, structurally allows mounting the proximeter and sensor on DIN rails, which provide a simpler and more convenient mounting scheme and which allows the system to be mounted in small dimensions, as well as on panels.

Sensors are supplied both in threaded housings, both in armor and without. The 11 mm tip probe allows for a much longer measurement range (compared to the 3300 XL system 8 mm tip length probe).
The system can be used at higher temperatures. The 3300 XL System with 11mm Proximity Probes is used in the following applications:
- measurement of axial position
- vibration measurement of bearings in steam turbines
-measuring and locating the location of the rod in reciprocating compressors

The System 3300 XL with 11 mm Proximity Probe is designed to replace the 11 mm or 14 mm Probes of the 7200 Series. The 3500 Bently Nevada Vibration Monitoring System requires a software configuration update.
